History

  • The Assam Minorities Development Board was registered on 4th April, 1985 under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and was notified vide notification No.PLB.340/84/31 dated 13/06/1985. The object of the Board is “Charitable” Particularly to benefit 6 (Six) notified religious Minority Communities in Assam namely Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis by examining the problems of the communities. The Board is to advise ways and measures for the protection of constitutional rights of these particular communities. It is to formulate schemes for advance of education and to promote employment opportunities amongst the notified minority communities.
